About

Hi, I'm Cherie.

When I was a young adult, my father died suddenly, and I never had the chance for the conversations I still wish we’d had. That experience shapes everything I do. I believe the best care starts with getting to know the person, their story, their interests, and what still brings them joy, and connecting the life they had before with the life they have now. My mission is to ease the stress and overwhelm that so often come with caregiving, so both you and your loved one feel truly supported.

More about Cherie

Owner & Founder, Glass Half Full Caregiver Consultancy

Cherie Lafleur founded Glass Half Full Caregiver Consultancy to bridge a critical gap she witnessed throughout her decades on the front lines of healthcare: the deep, often overwhelming need for family caregiver support. Her mission is simple yet vital: to provide customized, one-on-one coaching that equips spouses, partners, adult children, and friends with the tangible skills and confidence required to care for their loved ones safely at home.

Cherie’s calling developed early. Raised in a rural environment in the Pacific Northwest, she spent her childhood accompanying her mother to care for aging adults in their community. By age 15, she had secured her first official role as an aide in a nursing home.

Before returning full-time to her caregiving roots, Cherie built a formidable corporate background as Director of Personnel for Marketing for a Fortune 100 company. Her training in Business Administration and Marketing gives her a unique, organized perspective on managing the complex logistical moving parts of patient advocacy and care management.

In 2018, Cherie returned to the Pacific Northwest to care for a family member in Central Oregon. After that loss, she channeled her grief and experience into working as a Private In-Home professional caregiver and patient advocate. Over her career, Cherie has personally guided more than 100 individuals and their families through some of life's most challenging transitions, delivering expert care across post-surgical, palliative, hospice, and end-of-life stages.

Today, Cherie leverages this wealth of hands-on experience to empower the in-home caregivers in our community. When she isn't coaching families, Cherie is an avid chef who loves creating beautiful culinary presentations, and she enjoys horseback riding and firearm practice.
